Why this product exists

Over the last decade most websites stopped having a backend. Portfolios moved to static site generators, marketing sites moved to Webflow and Framer, documentation moved to Astro and Next.js static exports — and now a growing share of sites are generated by AI tools like Lovable, v0 and Bolt in minutes.

All of those sites still need a contact form. And a contact form, done properly, needs a surprising amount of infrastructure: somewhere to receive the POST, a database, an email provider with good deliverability, spam filtering that doesn't punish real people, file storage, retries when Slack or a CRM is down, and sensible data retention. Building that for every site is wasteful; bolting on a heavy plugin or a generic survey tool rarely fits the design.

FormSubmit is the missing piece: a headless form backend. You keep total control of your form's markup and styling. We give you one URL that turns submissions into emails, rows, messages and webhooks.

What we believe

• Plain HTML should just work. A <form action="…"> with no JavaScript is a first-class citizen, not a fallback.
• Every plan gets the essentials. Spam protection, webhooks, email notifications and every integration are included on the free plan. Paid plans are about volume, not about unlocking basics.
• Never lose a submission to a billing limit. When you hit your monthly quota we keep accepting and storing submissions; they are simply locked until you upgrade or the month resets.
• Ask for the least data and the least permission. We hash IP addresses, encrypt integration secrets, keep uploads private, let you choose retention (including “don't store”) and use Google's narrow drive.file scope for Sheets.
• Bring your own keys. Captcha providers, Slack, Airtable, Mailchimp and Kit connect with your credentials, so you stay in control of those relationships.
