Pricing and free plan comparison table of Formspree alternatives: FormSubmit, Web3Forms, Forminit, Basin, Formspark and Netlify Forms

The best Formspree alternative depends on your traffic and how you deliver submissions. Web3Forms has the largest free monthly allowance (250 submissions) for email-only forms. FormSubmit includes webhooks, integrations and file uploads on every plan, with paid plans from $5/month for 1,000 submissions. Basin and Getform (now Forminit) suit teams that want bigger paid tiers, Formspark sells non-expiring submission bundles instead of a subscription, and Netlify Forms works if you host on Netlify. Formspree is still a solid, long-running choice, and below we show when staying put makes more sense.

We make FormSubmit, so read this with that in mind. Every figure below comes from the vendor's own pricing page or docs, and each one is linked so you can check it yourself.

Formspree pricing and free plan (October 2026)

Here's what Formspree's plans page listed when we checked it:

PlanPrice (billed yearly)Submissions / monthFile uploads
Free$050Not included
Personal$10/mo2001 GB
Professional$20/mo2,0005 GB
Business$60/mo20,00010 GB

Month-to-month billing costs more than the yearly prices shown. All plans include unlimited forms. The free plan keeps a 30-day submission archive and includes basic spam filtering, custom reCAPTCHA and domain restriction. It also includes email, Slack, Discord and Telegram plugins. Productivity plugins such as Google Sheets, Airtable and Notion start on Personal. Webhooks, Zapier, autoresponses and API access start on Professional.

So the free plan works for a portfolio contact form, and Formspree itself calls it a plan "for testing and development". Most people who search for a Formspree alternative want one of three things: more free submissions, file uploads, or webhooks and integrations at a lower price.

The alternatives, one by one

FormSubmit

FormSubmit is a headless form backend. You point your own HTML form at https://formsubmit.app/f/YOUR_FORM_ID and keep your design. The difference from Formspree is what's included at the low end. Every plan, including Free, includes:

  • Email notifications and autoresponders
  • Layered spam protection, with reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or Turnstile
  • Signed webhooks
  • Slack, Discord, Google Sheets, Airtable, Mailchimp and Kit
  • File uploads, a domain allowlist and CSV/JSON export

FormSubmit doesn't add its own branding on any plan.

  • Plans: Free (1 form, 50/mo, 100 MB), Starter $5/mo (2 forms, 1,000/mo, 2 GB), Pro $15/mo (10 forms, 5,000/mo, 10 GB), Business $50/mo (unlimited forms, 10,000/mo, 20 GB). Yearly billing gives two months free.
  • Limits: spam doesn't count toward your quota. Submissions over the limit are still stored but stay locked until you upgrade or the month resets, so none are dropped.
  • Not included: conditional logic, multi-page forms, payments and a public REST API for reading submissions.
  • Suits: freelancers, agencies and small businesses who want integrations and uploads without moving up a tier.

Web3Forms

Web3Forms uses a public access key in your form and has the most generous free monthly allowance here: 250 submissions a month, unlimited forms and unlimited domains. The free plan includes server-side spam checks, hCaptcha and a honeypot. Paid plans add the following (pro features docs):

  • File uploads
  • reCAPTCHA and Turnstile
  • Autoresponders
  • Domain restriction
  • Webhooks and integrations (Google Sheets, Slack, Discord, Telegram)

According to its pricing page, Pro allows 10k submissions a month and Agency 20k.

  • Suits: simple contact forms on personal or small sites that only need email delivery.
  • Keep in mind: the free plan keeps submission history for 30 days. See our full Web3Forms alternatives roundup.

Getform (now Forminit)

Getform was renamed Forminit in January 2026; its pricing page says it's the same service. The free plan has 1 form, 100 submissions a month and 100 MB of file storage, plus email notifications and spam protection. Pro costs $190 a year (shown as $16/mo) for 15 forms, 5,000 submissions and 1 GB. It adds webhooks, a REST API, Slack, Discord, Google Sheets and Zapier. Business is $594 a year for 50,000 submissions and unlimited forms.

  • Suits: teams that want a REST API and high monthly volume on Business.
  • Keep in mind: at the monthly limit, Forminit's FAQ says forms pause and new submissions are rejected and not stored. Branding removal is on Business.

Basin

Basin has five tiers, from Free (1 form, 50 submissions a month, 30-day retention, 100 MB uploads) to Agency (25K submissions). Starter is $12.50/mo billed yearly for 3 forms and 250 submissions. Webhooks, Slack, Google Sheets and autoresponses start on Growth ($24.17/mo billed yearly, 1,000 submissions). Spam doesn't count toward your limit. Basin also bills overages per 1,000 instead of stopping your form.

  • Suits: agencies and lead-gen sites that want advanced spam filters and never want a form to stop accepting leads.

Formspark

Formspark doesn't sell subscriptions. You get 250 free submissions to start, then buy a one-time bundle. The Upgrade bundle was $25 (shown discounted from $50) for 50,000 submissions and 100 forms, and Formspark says bundles don't expire. Its features include:

  • Spam filtering with Botpoison, hCaptcha, reCAPTCHA or Turnstile
  • Webhooks, Slack, Zapier, Google Sheets and Notion
  • Autoresponders and CSV/JSON export

Files aren't stored by Formspark. Its file upload docs use a third-party uploader such as Uploadcare or Cloudinary and save the file URL.

  • Suits: low, uneven traffic where paying once beats a monthly bill.

Netlify Forms

If your site is deployed on Netlify, Netlify Forms needs no extra account. Add data-netlify="true" and Netlify detects the form at deploy time. On Netlify's credit-based plans, the billing FAQ says form submissions are free and unlimited. Spam is filtered with Akismet, plus an optional honeypot or reCAPTCHA 2. Notifications go to email, Slack or webhooks.

  • Suits: sites that will stay on Netlify.
  • Keep in mind:
    • The form only works on Netlify.
    • Forms rendered only in JavaScript need a static HTML copy.
    • Requests are capped at 8 MB.
    • If your team runs out of credits, Netlify pauses projects, and paused projects don't receive form submissions.
  • More: see Netlify Forms not working.

When to stick with Formspree

Switching isn't always worth it. Stay with Formspree if:

  • You rely on its premium plugins, such as Stripe, HubSpot, Salesforce or Zendesk, or on its rules engine. Several of the services above don't offer direct equivalents.
  • You use Formspree's own React library or its submissions API on Professional.
  • You need 20,000 submissions a month on one plan, which its Business tier covers.
  • Your forms already work and your volume fits your plan. A migration costs time even when it's simple.

How to switch from Formspree

Create a form in the new service

Copy its endpoint URL. In FormSubmit it looks like https://formsubmit.app/f/YOUR_FORM_ID.

Change the action URL

Replace the Formspree URL in your form's action attribute, or in your fetch call. Keep the field names you already use.

Recreate notifications and integrations

Set up recipients, autoresponders, Slack, Sheets or webhooks again in the new dashboard.

Send a test submission

Check the email, the dashboard and each integration before you remove the old form.

Here's a plain HTML contact form that already points at a FormSubmit endpoint:

html
<form action="https://formsubmit.app/f/YOUR_FORM_ID" method="POST">
  <div>
    <label for="fs-name">Name</label>
    <input id="fs-name" type="text" name="name" placeholder="Jane Doe" required>
  </div>
  <div>
    <label for="fs-email">Email</label>
    <input id="fs-email" type="email" name="email" placeholder="jane@example.com" required>
  </div>
  <div>
    <label for="fs-message">Message</label>
    <textarea id="fs-message" name="message" rows="5" placeholder="How can we help?" required></textarea>
  </div>
  <!-- Honeypot: leave this hidden field empty to catch bots -->
  <input type="text" name="_gotcha" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off" style="display:none">
  <!-- Optional: where to send people after submitting -->
  <!-- <input type="hidden" name="_redirect" value="https://yoursite.com/thanks"> -->
  <button type="submit">Send</button>
</form>

Frequently asked questions

Is Formspree free?

Yes, Formspree has a free plan. As of October 2026 its pricing page lists 50 submissions per month, unlimited forms, a 30-day submission archive, basic spam filtering and email, Slack, Discord and Telegram plugins. File uploads aren't included on Free, and Formspree describes it as a plan for testing and development.

How much does Formspree cost?

As of October 2026, Formspree's paid plans start at Personal, $10 a month billed yearly for 200 submissions a month. Professional is $20 a month billed yearly for 2,000 submissions, and Business is $60 a month billed yearly for 20,000. Month-to-month billing costs more. Check formspree.io/plans for current prices.

What is the best Formspree alternative?

It depends on what you need. For a large free monthly allowance with email-only delivery, Web3Forms is a good fit. If you want webhooks, integrations and file uploads on a cheap plan, FormSubmit includes all of them on every plan, starting at $5 a month for 1,000 submissions. If your site lives on Netlify, Netlify Forms needs no extra service at all.

Which Formspree alternative has the biggest free plan?

By monthly submissions, Web3Forms' free plan is the largest of the hosted backends we checked, at 250 a month. Formspark gives 250 free submissions in total rather than per month. On Netlify's credit-based plans, form submissions themselves don't use credits.

Can I switch from Formspree without rewriting my form?

Usually, yes. Most hosted form backends accept a standard HTML form POST, so switching means changing the form's action URL (or your fetch URL) and keeping your field names. Recreate notifications and integrations in the new service and send a test submission.
