This guide takes you from zero to a working form. You need a website (or even a local HTML file) and a Google account.
1. Create a form
Sign in at formsubmit.app with Google and click New form. Give it a name like "Website contact". You'll get an endpoint that looks like this:
https://formsubmit.app/f/k3m9p2qabxThe free plan includes one form; paid plans include more (see limits and plans).
2. Point your form at the endpoint
Set the form's action to your endpoint and method to POST. Every input needs a name — that name becomes the field label in emails and the key in exports and webhooks.
<form action="https://formsubmit.app/f/k3m9p2qabx" method="POST">
<label>Name <input type="text" name="name" required></label>
<label>Email <input type="email" name="email" required></label>
<label>Message <textarea name="message" required></textarea></label>
<!-- Honeypot spam trap: keep it hidden -->
<input type="text" name="_gotcha" style="display:none" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off">
<button type="submit">Send</button>
</form>Using React, Vue, Svelte, Astro or a site builder? The Install tab in your dashboard has copy-paste snippets for each, and the guides walk through every framework.
3. Submit a test
Open your page, fill the form and submit. You'll be redirected to a hosted thank-you page (you can use your own), the submission appears in your dashboard, and an email arrives in your inbox.
4. Harden and connect
Once it works, spend two minutes on the settings:
- Domain allowlist — only accept submissions from your domain. See domain allowlist.
- Redirect — send visitors to your own thank-you page. See redirects.
- Notifications — add teammates, customise the subject, or enable an autoresponder.
- Integrations — send submissions to Slack, Google Sheets or a webhook.
- Retention — decide how long submissions are kept. See retention.
