Slack

Post submissions to a Slack channel using an Incoming Webhook.

FormSubmit posts each submission to Slack using an Incoming Webhook URL — no bot user, OAuth or workspace-wide permissions.

Setup

  1. Go to api.slack.com/apps, create an app "From scratch" and pick your workspace.
  2. Open Incoming Webhooks, toggle it on, click Add New Webhook to Workspace and choose a channel.
  3. Copy the URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/).
  4. In FormSubmit, open your form → Integrations → Slack, paste the URL and save.
  5. Click Send test.

Message format

  • A header: "New submission — Form name"
  • One block per field (up to 20 fields; long values are truncated at Slack's limits)
  • File links, if any
  • An Open in FormSubmit button

The webhook URL is stored encrypted and only shown masked in the dashboard. To post to several channels, add one Slack integration per channel.
